Gavin DeGraw Discharged From Hospital While Police Continue to Piece Together Incident

Gavin Degraw

As New York City police continue to piece together details of the unexplained late-night attack on Gavin DeGraw, the singer has now been discharged from the hospital and seems to have avoided any critical injuries.
DeGraw’s reps issued a statement indicating that he suffered a concussion, broken nose and black eyes after being attacked at 4AM early Monday morning in the East Village by three unknown assailants. He had apparently left the National Underground, a bar he co-owns, and was alone at 6th Street and 1st Avenue when he was attacked. After making it 13 blocks north, he was clipped by a cab before police were called by a witness who reported that DeGraw seemed to be drunk and had blood on his clothing.
Yesterday, the ‘I Don’t Wanna Be’ singer issued his only tweet since the incident, writing, “Hi my friends. Honestly, I don’t remember much. I only know I can recover from here. Thank u all for your genuine concern. I love u guys.”
DeGraw’s new album, ‘Sweeter,’ is set for a Sept. 20 release, and he had been touring with Train and Maroon 5. His reps added, “Gavin and his family appreciate everyone’s concern at this time. We have no information yet regarding his upcoming concert dates and promotion for his new album.”
