According to Entertainment Weekly, Duff, who was cast as Bonnie, was let go from production due to scheduling conflicts. Reports indicate that the pregnant 23-year-old would not be available to shoot until June.
Duff’s reps were not available for comment, however, the studio confirmed that they did not fire Duff because of her pregnancy. “[That is] not true at all,” Cypress Moon Productions President Tonya Holly told EW.
Meanwhile, co-star Kevin Zegers, who shared the screen with Miley Cyrus in Rock Mafia’s ‘The Big Bang’ video, has reportedly bowed out of the project due to conflicting schedules. Zegers was originally cast as Clyde in the upcoming re-imagined film.
It remains to be seen whether the two stars of the movie can work out their schedules, but as of now, it looks like a re-casting may be in the cards.
Duff announced her happy news on her official website on Sunday, Aug. 14. In celebrating her one-year anniversary with hockey player Mike Comrie, she wrote: “I can’t believe it has already been a year. Time really flies when you’re having fun! We also want to share the exciting news that baby makes three! We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives. Thanks to everyone for the continued love and support throughout the years!”
