Whitney Duncan Joins Cast of ‘Survivor: South Pacific’

Whitney Duncan

Whitney Duncan is setting sail to get lost — the former ‘Nashville Star’ contestant has signed on for the 23rd season of ‘Survivor,’ dubbed ‘Survivor: South Pacific,’ which kicks off this fall on CBS.
While CBS has not yet made an official cast announcement, it seems Duncan will be just one of 16 competitors on the popular reality TV series. Her show peers include a high school baseball coach, a teacher, a model, a retired cop and many more everyday folks. “My family thinks I’m absolutely nuts,” Duncan writes, according to her MSN bio. “I just love adventure. I am the one to do crazy things in my family.”
The show is being filmed in Samoa. ‘Survivor: South Pacific’ premieres September 14 at 8PMET on CBS.
On a more somber note, while Duncan was made famous after coming in fifth in Season 5 of ‘Nashville Star,’ her name made headlines many times in the past couple of months in light of the disappearance of her cousin, Holly Bobo. Bobo was kidnapped from her Decatur County, Tenn. home back in April. Duncan has used her celebrity status to aid search efforts, with special attention to her social media outlets, but unfortunately, Bobo has not yet been found.
