Beyonce Scores UK #1 With ‘4′

Her song ‘Countdown‘ sees Beyonce urge London to ’speed it up’ and it seems that her wish is their command, for the UK has taken her latest album ‘4‘ to the #1 spot after just seven days.
Serving as her second #1 record in the country, ‘4′ received a gargantuan promotional push courtesy of the starlet’s headlining performance at this years ‘Glastonbury Festival’.
Full story below…Beating chart rivals Adele and Lady GaGa to the top spot, ‘4’s more than impressive debut comes after the LP was certified Gold in Poland, triple platinum in Brazil and also enjoyed the top spots in Australia and Ireland.
Expected to top the Billboard 200 chart in the US this coming week, the album is on course to become one of singer’s most commercially celebrated releases, despite the speculation that surrounded it’s success earlier on in the year.
With the performer’s innovatively named BeyHive more eager than ever to show their loyalty to the Grammy winner, this UK #1 album is sure to be just one of many.
Elsewhere on the chart, Rihanna’s ‘Loud‘ to a tumble slipping down #2 places to #11 whilst Jessie J’s ‘Who You Are’ leapt up by 5 places after 18 weeks in the chart.
It seems that Britney Spears‘ ‘Femme Fatale’ was once again paying tribute to her live singing voice, as it was nowhere to be seen in this weeks Official UK Top 40.
