Eminem Sets Digital Record With One Million ‘Recovery’ Sales

Eminem

Eminem has just achieved another digital milestone in his career. He has become the first artist to ever sell one million digital copies of an album. His 2010 release, the chart-topping, Grammy-winning ‘Recovery,’ has just surged past the one million digital copies sold mark.

The news that ‘Recovery’ moved a million digital units comes hot on the heels of his ‘Hell: The Sequel’ album, released by his Bad Meets Evil project with Royce Da 5’9″, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard sales charts. This accolade is the first time in five years that an artist has landed two albums in the top slot within a 12-month period. It’s apparent that Em can do no wrong.

“We are thrilled to congratulate Eminem on the history-making digital sales success of Recovery,” said Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg in a statement issued by Em’s label, Interscope. “Over the years we’ve made a concerted effort to engage Em’s online fan base so this achievement is especially rewarding. Eminem made an amazing album with ‘Recovery’ and the fans responded in record numbers.”

‘Recovery’ debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart and was the rapper’s sixth album to do so. He is also the person, living or dead, with the most Facebook fans. Congrats, Em! Your fans are digitally-minded and they clearly love you.
