Those of you who are wondering why it took so long for Lil Wayne to release his oft-delayed LP ‘Tha Carter IV,’ you can blame his producers.
In an interview with XXL Magazine, Weezy points the finger regarding the hold up at his knob-twiddlers who initially submitted some lackluster music. “These n—-s’ beats been sucking,” he says. “I’m putting it out there: you producing, what ya’ll doing? Get right, man. Step it up. This is coming from a rapper. One of the best rappers. I ain’t saying I’m the best no more, because these n—-s is too good these days. I got old. But damn, y’all n—-s’ beats [are] terrible!”
Elsewhere in the interview, Wayne revealed that he might hang up the mic after ‘C4,’ but I thinks he’s just teasing. “I’m bowing out still on top,” he boasts. “I’ma make y’all want me when I retire. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Nooo!’ I ain’t leaving out this b—h when y’all be like, ‘Yeah, it’s about time, dawg.’ ‘Carter IV’ might be my last one.”
Anyway, the wait is almost over, folks. ‘Tha Carter IV’ is set to finally hit stores on Aug. 24. The collection will boasts Weezy-approved beats by Bangladesh, Noah ’40′ Shebib, Jim Jonsin and Polow da Don.
