Alabama Panhellenic’s New Recruitment Video Features Horrid Covers of Chris Brown + Rebecca Black

Alabama Panhellenic Recruiting Video

The University of Alabama Panhellenic Society created a “parody music video” set to the sounds of Chris Brown‘s ‘Look at Me Now’ and Rebecca Black‘s ‘Friday,’ which has become a viral sensation.
The video was produced by the girls in hopes of convincing freshmen to rush the school’s sororities, however, they only succeeded in, well, making a mockery of themselves. The rhythmically and tonally challenged sorority sisters dressed in white sleeveless tops and backwards hats, hoping to invoke the lyrical flow of Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, but instead tripped over their cheesy pledge-inspired lyrics.

Midway through the video, two girls made the erroneous declaration of a remix before launching into a re-imagined version of ‘Friday’ that — dare we say it — is actually worse than the original. To be fair, there was one student who almost hit all of her notes, but the weak choreography and corny subject matter ruined any chance of redemption.
Whether the class of 2015 will be enticed by this display is still yet to be determined, but the video has garnered over 245,000 views on YouTube in just two days. If that’s any indication of the enthusiasm of the incoming freshman, so help us all.
