MARIAH CAREY HAS ANNOUNCED A COLLABORATION WITH JUSTIN BIEBER

It may not yet be the season to be jolly, however diva Mariah Carey is already gearing up for this year’s festivities.
In a special video announcement, the vocalist announced that she is to reboot her classic ‘All I Want For Christmas’ (for a 3rd time) – with this incarnation being a duet with labelmate Justin Bieber.

Hmm. Surely I’m not the only one getting an air of desperation from this. Or, at the very least, this being more forced than it is organic. ‘Why’ you might ask. Well there’s a number of reasons: from the respectable, yet below target sales of last year’s ‘Merry Christmas II You’, to the benefits of Justin teaming up with a legend, to reintroducing Mariah to the vast audience the 17 year old commands. Put simply, it’s a smart business move, yet one I feel sees Mariah hit-chasing yet again. Given the performance of her recent efforts, I can’t say I blame her.
In any case, the duet is set to feature on Bieber’s forthcoming Xmas LP ‘Under The Mistletoe’, which also features Boys II Men and Busta Rhymes. The opus arrives in stores on November 1st.
